[ DJS Volume I & II ] [ DJS Volume III ]

From inception, DJS has never had annual dues or fees of any sort for membership. We intend to keep it that way. But it does take money to run any organization, particularly one as large as DJS. Not only does DJS maintain historic cemeteries, help support The Kingston Church, and work on many worthwhile projects, but it also throws a great reunion once a year in Natchez.

So how does DJS find money to support all its efforts? Donations -- for projects, for memorials, for burial plots, etc. And our history books are our pride and joy -- almost our raison d'etre. We use donations received for these books to publish reprints and related publications. And, the donations you make in addition to defraying the costs of these and other items, allow you to help your family organization while demonstrating pride in your heritage. It's all pretty neat stuff!

History of the Descendants of the Jersey Settlers
of Adams County, Mississippi, Volumes I & II
Frances Preston Mills, Editor

Originally published in 1981, reprints of this invaluable two-volume set are now available again. The two books combined are over 2,000 pages long with over 200 pages of genealogical sources. The index alone is over 200 pages long! History, personal letters, family stories, biographies, diaries, historical records -- the books have it all! These books constitute the primal source for the DJS.

History of the Descendants of the Jersey Settlers
of Adams County, Mississippi, Volume III
Ruth Fletcher Latham, Editor

Published in 1996, this 756-page book sports a 100-page index - well over 10,000 names. The content fills in voids from Volumes I & II and carries the generations forward. In addition to genealogy, the book contains many genealogy sources, biographies, and historical records. The donation will defray costs of printing, etc., and will enable us to continue making this valuable volume available.
Of note, this is as far as the DJS plans to go. From where Volume III ends, each family may begin their own family history. The DJS does hope to publish more editions of our books, containing further corrections and fill ins. When? Later, much later.
Donation: $75.00 US (shipping and handling included).
